At the heart of the Launch program is a focus on helping students develop essential language and literacy skills for everyday life. Students engage in reading and comprehension activities designed to improve their ability to retell stories, identify main ideas, draw conclusions, and respond to questions. These skills are supported through vocabulary-building and guided discussions that deepen understanding.

Speaking and listening are practiced daily through structured conversation tasks. Students learn how to greet others, start and maintain conversations, stay on topic, and interpret nonverbal cues like facial expressions and body language—crucial skills for real-world communication.
Writing is also a key part of the program, with practical tasks such as composing emails, writing lists and notes, and completing simple forms. Grammar, spelling, and sentence structure are taught in context, helping students become more confident and effective communicators.

Our goal is to empower students to use language clearly and confidently—whether in social settings, at work, or in further study. To learn more about the various programs Brighton Launch offers, contact us today at (416) 932 – 8273, EXT: 520.
